Delicious Chai Latte Recipe

Posted by Kathy Gentzler on

As temperatures are rising, few of us ever settle for a hot drink. Thankfully we have many options iced. Chai is a delicious tea blend. The base is traditionally Assam and the spices may include cinnamon, cardamom, licorice, ginger. All depending on the blend you are buying.

An iced chai latte is easy to make and is sure to be refreshing on those hot summer days.

For a smoother tea we recommend the cold brew method. Measure out the amount of tea you will need and add cool water. Let it steep in your fridge for 6-8 hours. We recommend that you make a strong tea as you will be adding milk later. Play a bit with the measurements until you find the perfect cup for you. When you are ready to enjoy, pour in a glass, add cold milk, and a sweetener (agave syrup or honey syrup work great.) Stir and enjoy!

If you are using our convenient Mist Pitcher here is the recipe:

  • for 50 oz use 8-10 tsp of chai
  • Add water and cold steep for 6-8 hours
  • Pour in glass and add cold milk (milk substitutes work great)
  • Sweeten to taste

To make a honey syrup mix 1/4 cup honey with 1/4 cup water. The syrup is easier to mix in the drink than straight honey.

To make a dirty chai latte, add a shot of espresso. A good boost of caffeine when you need it!

We have a nice variety of chai teas for you to choose from - Misty Mountain Chai; Cinnamon Trail Chai; Vanilla Chai; Cochin Masala Chai. You can also use tea bags and use the Taylors Classic Chai.
